چکیده
Dragonfly Anax nigrofasciatus Oguma, 1915 (Odonata: Aeshnidae) was collected on a small pond in the vicinity of Vityaz settelment, Gamov Peninsula, Primorsky Krai 2021. It is first record this East Asian species from Russia. A. clearly differs parthenope julius Brauer, 1865, more common south Russian Far East, by body coloration and details morphology.

Emergence phenology, uncertainty, and the evolution of migratory behavior in Anax junius (Odonata: Aeshnidae)
Mass migrations by Odonata, although less studied than those of Monarch butterflies and plague locusts, have provoked comment and study for many years. Relatively recently, increasing interest in dragonflies, supported by new technologies, has resulted in more detailed knowledge of the species involved, behavioral mechanisms, and geographic extent. In this paper we examine, in four independent ...
متن کاملSimultaneous control of head and thoracic temperature by the green darner dragonfly Anax junius (Odonata: Aeshnidae)
Anax junius is a large dragonfly that regulates thoracic temperature (Tth) during flight. This species, like several other intermittently endothermic insects, achieves control of Tth at least in part by increasing circulation of hemolymph to the abdomen at high air temperature (Ta), thus facilitating heat loss from the thorax. In this paper, I demonstrate that heat transfer to the head is also ...
متن کاملDependence of flight behavior and heat production on air temperature in the green darner dragonfly Anax junius (Odonata: Aeshnidae)
The large, endothermic dragonfly Anax junius regulates the temperatures of its thorax (Tth) and head (Th) during flight. At high ambient temperature (Ta) it is able to dispose of excess heat from the thorax by increasing hemolymph circulation to the abdomen, but recent evidence suggests that heat loss to the abdomen is largely passive at Ta<30 °C. Nevertheless, these insects continue to reg...
متن کاملThe Comet Darner (Anax longipes: Aeshnidae): possibly breeding in Canada
We captured and photographed a male Comet Darner (Anax longipes) from the Crieff area, in southern Wellington County, during the 2005 Hamilton Odonate Count. It was in suitable breeding habitat for this species, and may have emerged at the site, although searches for reproductive evidence later in the season were unsuccessful. There are three previous Canadian records for Anax longipes—this is ...
متن کاملSkeletomuscular development of genital segments in the dragonfly Anax imperator (Odonata, Aeshnidae) during metamorphosis and its implications for the evolutionary morphology of the insect ovipositor.
The skeleton-muscular organisation of abdominal segments 7-9 in female Anax imperator L. (Anisoptera, Aeshnidae) was examined in the stages of ultimate larva, teneral imago, and mature imago, with special emphasis on the transformation of the muscle arrangement. The absence of certain muscles in the genital segments compared to the 7th pre-genital segment was noted on all studied stages. Reduct...
